Jaka Lakovič (born July 9, 1978 in Ljubljana, SR Slovenia, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Slovenian professional basketball player of Serbian descent. A dynamic 186 cm tall point guard. He currently plays for Galatasaray Medical Park in Turkey.

Professional career

Previously, Lakovič played with FC Barcelona, Panathinaikos BC of Athens (Greek Basketball League ), Krka Novo Mesto (Telemach League).[1]

His brilliant performances during the 2004-05 Euroleague season wearing Panathinaikos jersey earned him an All-Euroleague Second Team selection as he reached the Euroleague Final Four.

In July 2011 he signed a two-year contract with Galatasaray.[2][3]

Slovenian national team

Lakovič competed for the Slovenian national team at the 2006 FIBA World Championship, the 2010 FIBA World Championship, and also at 6 straight FIBA European Championships, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2011.
